Koska kultakimaltava huivi ei tän illan juhliin valmistu niin sain irrottaa Helm's Deep huivin pingoituksesta. Oli mokomassa homma. Luotiin 562 silmukaa.... sitten pikku hiljaa ne silmukat vähetyi noin 350 silmukkaa. Mutta neulominen oli yksi asia pingottaminen oli ihan toinen juttu, oli hermot mennä. Sitä varten mokoma sai olla pinongssa pari viikoa ennkuin kärsin koskea siihen uudestaan. Höyhenkevyt ja kaunis ja madhottaman iso. Reilut 2 m leveä ja noin 60 cm syvä, mitenkä nyt tällästä kannetaan? Kierretäänkö se pari kierrosa massun ympärille ja rusetti selkään????
Since my golden shawl will not be finished for tonights party I'll had to release my Helm's Deep from blocking. Was it huge work or.... First you cast on 562 s and by and by decrease to about 350s. The knitting was one thing, blocking was a completely different thing. I was loosing my nerves doing it. I guess that was why it was blocked for two weeks before i could deal with it again. Light as a feather, so beuatiful and incredible big. Over 2 m wide and about 60 cm deep. How is one supposed to wear a piece of garmet like this one? Wrap it around your belly and tie a bow at back?
On tämä Kuitenkin kaunis ja pingotus teki todellakin ihmeitä mutta jos joskus teen toisen niin en aio tehdä 14 mallikertaa kuvioneletta vaan ehkä 10 tai 8 että saan hieman kapeamman ja ehkä käytännölisemmän huivin.
Anyhow I think it is beautiful and the blocking really made a miracle to it but if I'm ever to do this again I will not go for 14 repeats of the mosic stich pattern. Rather I'll do 10 or 8 repeats to get a smaller and more useful shawl.
Pitää kai tänä iltna mallata peilin edessä, huivi minulla on kuitenkin oltava muuten palellun ihan varmasti. Tänä aamuna oli -14 asktetta ja lunta on tullut ihan omiksi tarpeiksi. Mies on ollut työmatkalla Dallasissa (siellä oli +20 astetta, joulukuu ennätys kuulemma) ja meikälaäinen on saanut tehdä kaikki lumityöt yksittään. Mutta ensi viikoksi on luvattu lisää ja silloin minä en kyllä lumilapioon koske!
I guess I have to practice in front of the mirrow before I'll go so that I can wear it properly. A shawl I need to have or I'll freeze to death. This morning we had -14 degrees and it's been snowing now and then during the last week. My husband was at business trip in Dallas (they had +20 deg and it was obviously uncommonly warm to be december). I had to do all the snow-work myself. But they have promised more snow to next week and I'll promise you that someone else will have to do that work....
