Olen neulonut ihan vuoden ajan mukaisesti, ensiksi jotain valmista

Leaves are falling from the trees, the first snow fell last Thursday, the nights are cold and there are ice on the cars windows in the mornings. This has inspired my knitting…first of all something completed.

Malli/Pattern: Michelle Crimm, Falling Leaves Knit Cloth
Lanka/Yarn: Idena Bamboo (50 g)
Feelis: Ihan kiva, mutta koska haluan tiskirätinpinnasta hieman karheamman hain pohjaneuleen Eva Skulbru Eriksenin mallista Apple Leaf Cloth.
Nice but since I like a more rugged surface I used the surface pattern from Eva Skulbru Eriksen’s pattern Apple Leaf Cloth.

Syyskylmällä tarvitaan jotain lämmintä minkä voi kietaista ympärilleen. Sain vihdoinkin Woolen Collectible 12 Month Afghan KALin viimeisen tilkun neulotuksi.

Cold autumn days you need something warm to wrap around you. Finally the last square of the Woollen Collectible 12 Month Afghan KAL is finished.

Koska tilkkuja on niin kiva neuloa olen liittynyt uuten KAL-ryhmää. Tammy Eigeman Thompson päästää kerran kuukaudessa uuden tilkun.
Since knitting squares are such fun I have joined a new KAL, Tammy Eigeman Thompson releases a new square every month. The squares are a decent size (45x45 cm) so I only have to knit one square a month to get a nice afghan. The yarn is Novitas Puro and the colour is named "Frosty night". I realized pretty soon that even though the yarn itself is wonderful a solid coloured yarn might have been a better choice.

E-zings on järjestänyt arpajaiset. E-zings has arranged a lottery.

Suddasblogg on myös järjestänyt arpajaiset mihinkä olen osallistunut.
Suddasblogg too has a lottery/give away where I'm hoping to be the lucky one

Par I Stickor has also arranegd a lottery with splendid Knit-Pro needles and yarn as price...

My new, this time brainless, Hedgerow socks are growing quite nicely. The pattern is nice to knit and easy to memorize but I still haven’t decided what to say about the yarn. It too loosely spun and I doubt it’s durability in socks. But I love the colors and the fact that the socks will not be identical cheers up a tiresome Monday. Little Sister too likes when socks and mittens are cheerful. Last winter my mom had knitted lots of mittens and socks to her, in different colors. One day Little Sister was on Pippi Longstocking-mood. She wanted to have different colors on her socks and that was really funny. After that day you could dream on having her wear socks or mittens in the same color. But quite soon I realized the greatness of this whim. How long does it take to a lively 5 year old kid to mislay a mitten….But since she was on that mood there was always a suitable companion for every mitten/sock in the drawer.

Pikkusiskon yksisarvi-puserokin edistyy hitaasti. Eikö olekin ihanat värit.
Here is a picture of Little Sister Unicorn sweater. Isn’t the colors lovely.

6.359kg -->9.889 kg…

Äiti oli Suomessa lomalla. Hänellä oli hieman tuliaisia mukana…
My mother came home from her holiday in Finland. This is what she brought to me…

2 kg Novita Puroa, väri: pakkasyö, siitä teen tilkkutäkin.
1 kg Novita Bambu tiskirättejä varten
ja 450 g 7 veljestä tilkkutäkin reunustaksi

2 kg Novita Puro, I’ll knit an afghan of these
1 kg Novita Bamboo for dishcloths
450 g Novita 7 Veljestä to knit a border to my leftover-yarn afghan

I knit and knit but the stash doesn’t decrease at all. I believe that this is a common phenomena since I’ve read about it in other blogs. But I’m taking pride in the fact that I have a plan for every single skein and that there are more objects in my to-do-list than there are yarn in my stash.

Jotain pikkuista sain pyhän aikaan valmiiksi. Isoveljelle lapaset pipolangasta. Susi tuli. Isoveli hylkäsi ne heti ja ymmärrän hänet. Ei näin paksusta langasta pidä neuloa pieniä lapasia. Taidanpa purkaa lapaset ja neuloa langasta itselleni kaulurin

Something small was completed during the weekend. A pair of mittens for big Brother. A complete disaster. Big Brother refused them and I do understand him, one should not knit small mittens in such a bulky yarn. I think I’ll frog them and knit a cowl for me instead.
