Opali sukat

On muutamia sukkalankoja mitkä ovat tehneet minut uteliaaksi muun maassa Austerman, Opal, Regia, Noro ja Zauberball. Sain pari kuukautta sitten lankavaihdossa kerän Opalia ja nyt vihdoinkin sain se puikoille. Voin vain todeta että taisi olla ensimmäinen ja viimeinen kerä. Ei langassa sen kummempaa vikaa ole, se halkeilee hieman liian helposti, ei pahasti mutta sillä rahalla kun ostan Opalin ostan mielummin jotain muuta joka käyttäytyy paremmin.
There are sockyarns that has made me curious Austeman, Opal, Regia, Noro and Zauberball to mention some. A few months ago I got a skein of Opal in a yarn-swap and had it finally casted on. I can only say that it was propably the first and last skein of Opal I buy. Not that there were any major faults but the yarns splitted a bit too easy to be comfortable. For that money I rather buy something else that behaves a little better.

Feelis: Tosi kiva malli neuloa, sukat valmistui niin nopeasti että tuntuu siltä että ne kutoi itsensä ilman apua. Ne istuu jalassa kun nyrkki silmässä. Tykkään todellakin! A great pattern to knit, they knitted up so fast that I almost believe they knitted up by themself. The fit is perfect. Love these!

and the winner is....

minä!!! Minä voitin tämän kirjan Jen Lucasin järjestämässä huivi-mysteerio KALissa viime vuonna. Helmikuusa hän järjesti uuden KALin tällä kertaa sai vapaasti valita huivin hänen kirjasta. Minä valitisin kansikuvan huivin ja neuloin sen ja pingoitin sen ja piti vain päätellä langanpäät kun äiti tuli... Hän ihastui huiviin ja minä tietysti avasin ison suuni ja sanoin: Jos se mielytää niin ole hyvä... mutta saat päätellä kangat itse. Ja sinne se meni. Ihana Zauberball huivini, ihan noin vaan.... mutta hyvää kotiin se meni (ja on todennäköisesti enemmän käytössa kun se olisi ollut täällä).

me!!! I won this book in a mystery shawl KAL arranged by Jen Lucas last year. This February Jen arranged a new KAL, this time you could chose any of the shawls in the book. I choose the front page shawl and knitted and blocked it and was about to weave in loose end when mom came. She really admired the shawl and naturally I opened my big mouth and said: If you like it you can have it... but you have to weave in the loose ends yourself. And the shawl was all gone, my lovely Zauberball shawl, just like that... well the shawl got at least a good home (and will propably be more frequently in use than it should have been here).

Kylmä maaliskuu....

Viime viikolla sain maaliskuun lapaset valmiiksi. Silloin tuntui siltä että lapaset saa odotta ensi talvea mutta talvipakkaset palasi yllättävästi ja eilen mittari näytti -12 astetta. Oli ihan kiva että laatikosta löytyi uudet lämpöiset lapaset.

These mittens were finished last week and I had the feeling that I wouldn't be needing them anymore this winter. That was obviously an optimistic thought. The winter cold weather has returned and yesterday it was -12 deg Celsius. So, it was nice to have a pair of newly knitted warn mittens to wear.

Feelils: Tosi selekä ja kiva malli neuloa ja lapaset istuu tosi hyvin ja palikko ei kiertele. A well written and fun pattern to knit and the fit is great.

Pikkulämmintä

Yritän innokaasti saada lankavarastoani alle kymmen kiloa. Viime syksyna sain 6 kerää Fabel lankaa lankavaihdosaa ja upotin viimeiset kerät kauluriin. Tämä on vilukissan kauluri, korkea tiukka polo-kaulus pitää kylmät tuulet poissa. Malli on niin kiva että melkein voisin neuloa tusinan näitä. Niin, lankavarastosta puhuen, olin alle 10kiloa koko helmikuun mutta sitten sain pari lankavaihtopakettia ja nyt vaaka taas ylitää kymmenen kiloa. Pitää neuloa hieman enemmän...

I'm eagerly trying to reduce my stash below 10kg. Last autumm I received 6 skeins of Fabel-yarn in a swap, the last skeins were spent on this collar. It's really the thing for a frozen soul. The collar is tight and goes up high so it keeps cold winds away. I really like this pattern, could almost knit a douzen of these. Yes, about the stash... I was below 10 kg all February but in the end of the month I received two swaps and the scales bounced over 10 kg again. So now I need to knit some more...

Ganka lähetti minulle helmikuussa vaihotpaketin mikä sisälsi Fabel-lankaa ja muuta kivaa kuten suklaata, teetä ja kirjan. In February I received a swap from Ganka. I got some Fabel-yarn, some chocolate  some tea and a book.

Helmikuussa myös sain sukkalanka.vaihot paketin ja lankavarastoni kasvoi kahdella kerälla. In February I also received a sock-yarnswap and my stash grew with two more skeins.
